Can I drive, walk or cycle to the Arctic Ocean?
No, you cannot access the Ocean on your own. Public access ends at Deadhorse, about 8 miles from the ocean. Security gates on the access roads are guarded 24 hours a day, and permits for individuals to travel on their own are not available. The only way to get to the Arctic Ocean is by booking a tour. Please call the hotel in Deadhorse for arrangements at least 24hrs in advance (You will need to provide passport or drivers license information for a background check at the time of booking)
