Yukon Quest from Fairbanks, Alaska to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory Join us for the Start of the Yukon Quest on the frozen Chena River in downtown Fairbanks and watch the dogs and their mushers leave for this 1000 mile journey. Their path follows frozen rivers, cuts across mountains and over windswept tundra. We follow the race to the first check points to learn more about Dog Mushing and its tradition and history in Alaska. Thursday, February 2, through Sunday, February 5, 2012.

2012 Iditarod Tour & Northern Lights Viewing Winter in Alaska is a magical time, and the epic 1,000-mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race is Alaska's #1 winter event. Our Iditarod tour begins and ends in the small town of Nome in Northweast Alaska, the finish of the Iditarod. It's quite an atmosphere up here at the end of the race, as the Nome community rallies around the race and takes the week to celebrate Alaska and the Iditarod! Dog Sledding Adventures 2012 with Bettles Lodge Bettles Lodge is excited to announce a new adventure on the list of items to choose from here in the Arctic.  Starting this winter season December 2011, Iditarod musher Sven Haltmann will be offering sled dog tours exclusively to Bettles Lodge guests. The tours can be a half day, full day, an overnight or multiple nights out on the trail-
