Day 1: Meet your group in Fairbanks and prepare for your trip. Barbecue and overnight at the GoNorth campground.
Day 2: After a breakfast at the GoNorth campground you will fly to Bettles and from there further on by float plane to a small lake. Set up camp and enjoy the first night in the wilderness.
Day 3 - 9: Canoeing / rafting on the John River. Keep your eyes open for wildlife and enjoy the beauty of this amazing land. If the water is clear, the John River also offers some of the best fishing in the region. You will learn how to cook outdoor meals with fish, berries and other things that nature offers. The river trips ends at the abandoned village of Old Bettles where you spend your last night in the wilderness.
Day 10: Your gear will be transported to the new Bettles townsite while you hike there for about two hours. You will return to Fairbanks by air.
